Reiki, riconosciuto dall’Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità tra le tecniche complementari, affianca la terapia tradizionale, integrandola. Esso fa parte delle cosiddette Healing Touch e rappresenta una delle tecniche più studiate scientificamente e clinicamente a livello internazionale. Si fonda su principi della bioenergetica e della fisica quantistica. Molti studi hanno evidenziato i benefici di questa tecnica. Reiki negli ospedali e nei servizi sanitari nazionali si è ormai diffuso rapidamente in Italia e nel mondo grazie anche ai risultati degli studi fatti.
Solo negli USA sono più di 800 gli ospedali che integrano a vario titolo il Reiki in reparto, dunque l’elenco non può essere esaustivo ma solo a titolo di esempio, ogni giorno andrebbe aggiunto a questo elenco qualche ospedale! In vari paesi viene incluso Reiki nella formazione continua per le professioni sanitarie (accredito ECM).
Molti degli studi sul Reiki e delle ricerche qui elencate sono tratte da PubMed, la banca dati biomedica on line sviluppata dal National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) presso la National Library of Medicine (NLM). Sebbene non sia l’unica banca dati di questo tipo, con i suoi circa 16 milioni di citazioni di articoli scientifici dagli anni 50 del 900 ad oggi, PubMed è considerata il punto di riferimento nel suo campo. Il valore scientifico delle informazioni è garantito dalla selezione manuale dei contenuti condotta da qualificati comitati scientifici.
